Oil Pulling, followed by Salt Water
I have been Oil Pulling since April 2011 and it’s one of my Ayurveda practices. One of the things that has changed is I’m not Oil Pulling four times a day anymore. With everything else I’m doing I feel I’m more in balance, so I’m only Oil Pulling one to three times a day. Depending on how busy I am and what is going on that day. My Ayurveda practitioner recommends at the end of an Oil Pull that I rinse my mouth out with salt water to remove any toxins left over that could be reabsorbed into my body.
A couple other things I want to mention before re posting most of a previous blog about Oil Pulling is my Ayurveda practitioner recommends heating the Sesame Oil before Oil pulling. And that Sesame oil is the best oil to use. I’ve met several people who already Oil Pull and some who have started since talking to me and they use other oils. My Ayurveda practitioner told me to stay with Sesame oil because it’s the best at removing toxins and has been used for thousands of years.

Here’s the deal, I’ve had Multiple Sclerosis since 2001 and have tried dozens of homeopathic and different possible aids in helping me with my MS. Some with positive effects and some with no noticeable effects at all. So when I heard about and researched Oil Pulling, I had to try it. I made the decision to Oil Pull for 12 months and if no noticeable results I would stop. Of course I had great results and have been non stop ever since.
I use Sesame Oil Unrefined that can be purchased in most chain grocery stores health food section for about $10 for a 16oz bottle.
I put a tablespoon of Sesame oil in my mouth on an empty stomach and swish it for 20 minutes. If your new to Oil Pulling start out with 3 to 5 minutes and work your way up to what’s comfortable for you. The oil pulls toxins out of the blood from the blood vessels under the tongue.
Warning, if you have a chronic illness you may get sicker when you start Oil Pulling.This may be because the toxins are being pulled through you causing a flare up. Two weeks into it I had a couple of bad days, with an exacerbation. After that I was good. For me the number one change Carol and I noticed was fatigue elimination. I had been dealing with sever fatigue for about 8 to 10 years from the MS and the fatigue is gone and has not returned.
I’m happy with my results and a handful of others I’ve told have a steady regime of Oil Pulling and pleased with their results. We are all different and the results will be different for each of us. Since I started Oil Pulling I have had no issues with fatigue, I’m tired like every other healthy person.
