Recommended, the book “Food Rules”

“Food Rules”, An Eater’s Manual. #1 New York Times Bestseller by Michael Pollan who also authors “The Omnivore’s Dilemma”, a great read. “Food Rules” is an easy fun read. “Food Rules” is required reading and “Omnivore’s Dilemma” is recommended reading for my UZIT training I’m currently enrolled in.

Most of “Food Rules” is set up with one rule per page followed by additional information. Below are a few excerpts from the book:

Avoid food products that contain high-fructose corn Syrup.
Shop the peripheries of the supermarket and stay out of the middle.
If it came from a plant, eat it; if it was made in a plant, don’t.
It’s not food if it arrived through the window of your car.
Eat your colors.
Don’t eat breakfast cereals that change the color of the milk.
“The whiter the bread the sooner you’ll be dead”
…Eat less.
“Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, dinner like a pauper.”
Don’t get your fuel from the same place your care does.
