Shooting more lessons for the video “Yoga for Seniors” with Heidelberg University Media Director Nathan Cutietta and student Mike Lehman (Bio below).

Many of the seated poses in the video “Yoga for Seniors” I use at Assisted Living Facilities, a Senior Center and a specialty class called “Moving Toward Mobility” that work well for these groups. The video also incorporates Standing and Floor poses. I also demo getting up and down from the floor with a chair and without a chair safely. I show and talk about modifications for poses for those with limitations caused by age, disabilities or injuries. With a little creativity these poses work for most people.

We all need movement for circulation, flexibility in tight joints, strength, balance, depression and more to help us enjoy a better quality of life. This video will work for seniors, inactive beginners, most injuries or illnesses we have.

I’m hoping to get some lessons published this month with the whole course being published and available sometime in January if all goes well. Stay tuned for further updates.

Mike Lehman is featured this week as one of the students working on the video. Mike Lehman is friendly, easy to work with and contributed during the shoot. Below is a statement about Mike Lehman, in his words.

“My name is Mike Lehman, I am from Mentor, OH, which is located 30 minutes east of Cleveland. I am currently attending Heidelberg University and I am a senior, majoring in Business with a concentration in marketing. I will be graduating Spring of 2015.”
