Using a Yoga strap or belt held between the hands we'll be working the hands, arms, shoulders, chest and back today.
With the strap placed across your lap, grab the strap hip distance apart and pull gently out taking the slack out of the strap. Extend the arms straight out in front of your chest. On your next inhalation raise the straight arms up and over your head continuing the tension in the strap. Exhale let the straight arms drop down till the hands touch the legs while holding the tension in the strap. Continue the arms up and down 8-12 times.
Benefits: Works the fingers, hands, forearms, shoulders, chest and back building flexibility, strength and endurance. You'll be lengthening and stretching your arms and back as the arms are extended straight out and up also working deep into the shoulders.
These videos are designed for inactive beginners, seniors and people with most any illness or injury. The majority of these poses are in a chair and most can be done from a wheelchair. I’ll also be posting these videos on my You Tube Channel “Yoga Chuck” and Facebook page “Real Yoga, LLC”. All poses should be a No Pain No Pain practice and avoid having discomfort.
Happy & Healthy,
